Atlanta Leading Country in New Architecture
Published by admin | Filed under Family
Custom homes in Atlanta have surged throughout the 21st century and continue to outshine track homes despite the 2008 housing recession. Atlanta is setting new trends and helping to lead the country in architectural styles and has done so with a modern blend of many classic architectural types.
Now that the housing recession of 2008 is in full swing, it’s interesting to see the impact this has on builders. Many builders with thin margins are starting to drop out of business, slash prices, and make desperate moves to get a sale. This has resulted in upgrades, incentives, and more, but ultimately an overall improvement in the architectural detail of these homes. Track homes have taken a huge hit and custom homes with incentives have continued to move better than expected. Architectural details such as window boxes, architectural brackets, shutters, and hardware have been a few of the upgrades that builders are using to spruce up the curb appeal on their homes. This has resulted in a nice architectural fusion that has created a new breed of architecture in the Atlanta area.
2006 was a year of tremendous housing growth and development in Forsyth county and helped that county to be one of the fastest growing in the nation. Builders were flocking in and trying to get in on the action. Many builders decided to construct custom homes to separate themselves from the track builders and mainstream. Atlant has transformed in architecture and style a lot and now you can find a combination of a variety of architectural styles on the homes in that area. This new “fusion architecture” has been a hit and many custom homes have continued to sell strong during the recession due to their ability to outshine track homes in a buyers market. This has caused many of the track home builders to rethink their strategy to consider adding some window boxes or other architectural accents. Many of them are now offering upgrades to the homes to try to be competitive.
Classic country-style homes, cedar shingles, and a mix of mission-style architecture are some of the highlights. Most custom homes offer a combination of rock, brick, siding, and cedar shingle fusion into the home that creates a distinct look of character and variety. Now, you can rarely find a boring custom home in Atlanta that offers simple repeated features all over the front. Because most custom homes in Atlanta are built on hills they are 2-story and this has given architects the freedom to expand into unique elevations that are not typical outside of the state. The new fusion architecture has definitely been a hit and has largely contributed to the growth success in the north Georgia area despite the housing recession. “I believe that Atlanta is setting a trend in architecture for rest of America to follow. Atlanta is setting a new standard of architecture by being on the cutting edge and is a great place to raise a family and to find custom homes,” says Matthew Buquoi, a window box manufacturer in the Atlanta , Georgia area. “Custom homes in the north Atlanta area have revived architecture by brining in new elements and styles to make a new fusion of different architectural genres.”.”
